I often like to play and scene, in what might be considered not the normal way. I like to laugh and I like to hear the laughter of the person I am playing with. Sometimes, a Dom wants to have fun. (Doesn't that sound like the title of a Cyndi Lauper song??). I highly recommend this type of play to people on a regular basis.
Usually, it involves my easy chair or the couch, and my slave. I know that sounds like a lot of preparation in comparison to what we normally do. The lighting of the 75 or so candles we use, the perfect selection of music, the making sure that the 398 toys out of the 1128 that we own have been precisely selected, etc. Here are some of my favorite things to do. They bring a smile to my face and cause my slave to giggle, in between screams, of course.
1) I like to have her OTK and spank out the beat of the music that's on the TV, including commercials. If you're watching MTV or Lawrence Welk or something like that, it can be really fun. It also helps develop your spanking rhythm.
2) I like to do blindfolded spankings....except that I am blindfolded while giving the spanking. This is one of my favorites, especially if Stevie Wonder is playing on the stereo. This also helps with your visualization of your hands in motion and hitting the target. Your hands develop a much more intimate knowledge of the ass you're beating.
3) One of my all time favorite fun things is to play "Name That Tune". I spank out the tune, usually things like "Scooby Doo", the "Brady Bunch", "Green Acres", or the Wedding March". Anything you know that they SHOULD know. You will be amazed at the number of songs the average butt can learn. Around the holidays I am partial to "Frosty the Snowman" and my all time Christmas favorite, "The Little Drummer Boy". You can also make this one a play party game by playing out the tunes and having others guess the song.
4) One that you can do with friends or family on the phone is Name That Toy. Blindfold the angelic lil subbie and begin using toys at random until they can identify them strictly by "feel". I have friends in Ohio that I used to call, I would hold the phone by my slaves tail while I struck it with whatever toy might be handy. The people on the phone gasp, giggle and guess along with you. When your toy collection grows it gets to be even more interesting. I have about 20 different floggers, 8 different paddles, and Gawd only knows how many canes. I was using a wooden dowel rod one night and my slave yells, "dowel rod Sir!!" I said "yeah, but what diameter?" Fun, fun, fun :). And btw, she guessed it right.
My most recent favorite came after my slave and I had gone to Waffle House for a late bite to eat. I didn't like what was playing so I went and put a dollar in the jukebox and noticed that they had about 30 different Waffle House songs. I picked 6 of them that sounded interesting and went and sat down. I didn't finish my meal because I was laughing so hard. Not only were the songs funny, but they were made for spanking! I asked the guy at the counter if a CD could be had and he sent me to the web site shaking his head. http://www.wafflehouse.com, if you think I'm kidding. Waffle House Jukebox Favorites Volume 1 arrived about 10 days later and serenaded me with such classics as "844,739 Ways To Eat a Hamburger", "Waffle Do Wop" and my favorite from this CD, "There Are Raisins In My Toast". My all time favorite was not on the CD. It is entitled "Where Else Would You Eat Your Grits"? All of my friends thought I was joking about playing to this CD, or even owning it. When our group recently had its first ever weekend campout and play party, I came out in my thong, chefs jacket, hat and apron packed full of dollar store kitchen implements and began preparing my slaves tail in a gourmet fashion. People were gasping and choking from laughing, my slave included, even though she knew that we were going to be doing this scene.
I'm not saying that I don't advocate deep, dark and intense heavy play. I love it. What I am saying is that by adding a few fun surprises to your resume of "domly" skills, you can have a lot of fun, rejuvenate yourself as well as your partner and, oh, yeah...have some fun. It's therapeutic. I am currently at work on doing auditions for my coup de grace..the subbie drum set. I am going to put 6-8 different subs on padded milk crates to form the drum set, add those bass drum pedals with paddles attached, come out in spandex pants with two short crops in my hands and do a little drumming.
I guess the point of all of this for me is to make sure that, while I am working on my technical skills, I also am working on building and maintaining a healthy sense of humor. I think that is another trait that, being developed, will serve each of us very well.
